Report: Dwyane Wade Likely to Decline Option

The Miami Heat need at least one of their Big 3 to opt out prior to the start of free agency if they are going to be able to upgrade at the point guard position and improve from a depth standpoint.

According to the NY Daily News, future Hall of Fame guard Dwyane Wade is likely to opt out of the final two years of his contract in order to help Miami save money and improve this offseason.

Dwyane Wade is likely to opt out of his final two seasons, at $41.5 million, and probably accept a deal from the Heat worth $50 million-$55 million over four years to help the team open up cap space.

Wade is owed $20.8 million in 2014-2015. Under the parameters of the deal mentioned above, his decision to opt out and sign a cheaper extension would save the team about $8 million this offseason.
