While it’s highly unlikely that the Cleveland Cavaliers will part with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft later this week, various reports suggest that they have indeed talked with a few teams about the top selection.
One such report from Sam Amico of Fox Sports indicates that Cleveland and the Utah Jazz have talked about specifics.

This would be a mighty fine coup for the Cavs, but the question here is whether Utah would part with all of those assets to move up just four selections and acquire a veteran in the form of Jarrett Jack. That seems like a pretty high price to pay.
You also have to wonder if there would be a third team involved in a potential deal. Favors is the same type of player as Tristan Thompson, who the Cavaliers selected fourth overall in the 2011 NBA draft. Neither has the size to play center and it would create a logjam at the four. In terms of overall value, Cleveland would win this deal in the most lopsided of ways. That’s one of the reasons some within Utah’s front office is split on offering up Burks in any potential deal.
