Antonio Cromartie Considers Himself Better Than Richard Sherman

How nice it must be to live in fantasy world, in which you ride unicorns for fun and eat cotton candy all day. Apparently this is the world that new Arizona Cardinals cornerback Antonio Cromartie lives in right now.

The veteran defensive back had this to say about who the best cornerback in the NFL is right now (via NFL.com)

If y’all just want to go off one or two seasons … that’s fine and dandy,” Cromartie said. “But go over the longevity of my career and then match it up against these right here.

He continued…

To me, right now, it’s either me or (Revis),” Cromartie went on. “You got three guys that’s up and coming, but right now it’s either me or this guy — when we’re healthy. And when we’re healthy we know what we can do on the football field. We’ve both shown it in a Rex Ryan defense with zero help.

These quotes were in response to a NFL.com poll question asking who the best corner in the NFL was. Needless to say, Cromartie wasn’t a part of said poll. The Pro Bowler is coming off an injury-riddled season that saw him struggle a great deal in coverage on the outside. According to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), Cromartie ranked 110th out of 111 qualified cornerbacks in coverage last season.

Cromartie went on to call Richard Sherman out by name.

Richard, if you’re watching,” Cromartie continued, “I understand you’re going to say something about it.

Let me respond for Sherman for one second.
