Report: Golden State Warriors Could Make Play for Carmelo Anthony

Fresh of a whole host of reports that the Golden State Warriors are potentially looking to trade David Lee, comes this dandy. According to Marcus Thompson of the Bay Area News Group, Golden State may go after New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony if it is unable to land Kevin Love in a potential deal.

Thompson does indicate that Anthony is a backup option for the Warriors, who are said to be really intersted in Love. He’s also heard from sources that the Orlando Magic could be a potential trade partner in a three-way deal involving Klay Thompson going to the Minnesota Timberwolves, David Lee ending up with Orlando and the likes of Arron Afflalo and Love going to Northern California.

If the possibility of acquiring Love is exhausted, Golden State will likely turn to Anthony, who can opt out of his contract this offseason, as a back-up option.
