In an unexpected move, Memphis Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger has apparently turned down the Minnesota Timberwolves job. According to a report by David Aldridge of NBA.com, Joerger has decided to remain with the Grizzlies.

We had reported earlier today that Joerger was close to becoming Minnesota’s new coach, but that doesn’t appear to be the case after this shocking turnabout by the coach. Memphis had previously been linked to former New York Knicks and Houston Rockets coach Jeff Van Guny. It remains to be seen if the Grizzlies will keep Joerger on the bench.
For the Timberwolves, this is probably the worst-case scenario. They figured Joerger was their man, and now have to turn their attention to other potential coaching candidates.
