Multiple reports have surfaced that there could very well be plea deals in place for two outstanding charges against San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith, who would be the latest NFL player to skirt the long arm of the law.

The two potential ples deals being discussed stem from a weapon’s possession charge and in a separate incident, a DUI charge. Smith missed five games last season after checking himself into alcohol rehabilitation following a rush-hour traffic DUI on a Friday morning in September in San Jose, California last season.
Even if Smith is able to escape jail time here, there is a possibility that he will face discipline from the league office. The pass rusher was also arrested earlier this offseason after an incident at Los Angeles International Airport in Southern California.
