Perhaps The 49ers Will Draft Four-Time Arrested James Wilder Jr.

Who gets arrested four times by their 22nd birthday? That would be former Florida State running back, James Wilder Jr. Wilder’s most recent arrest was this past Sunday night on a warrant for driving with suspended license back on March 1st.

Per CBS Sports, here’s a portion of a statement Wilder issued the day following his last arrest:

I’ve seen articles today about other mistakes I have made in my life, like missing court dates for traffic violations or the time I argued with a police officer over an issue my girlfriend and I were having. I know there are no excuses for those things, even though for the longest time I told myself they were small things and not a big deal. But they are a big deal, because I am a better person than that.

It would almost seem like Wilder is looking at an alter-ego of himself while stating these words. Come on dude, four arrests over two years isn’t exactly the type of numbers the NFL is looking for in next month’s draft.

However, there could be an upside, though for Wilder. The 49ers may have interest, as they seem to have a tolerance for players impacted by the law. Per NFL’s Judy Battista, since January 2012, nine 49ers players have either been arrested or have been involved in police investigations.

And, have you heard the latest change in plans for the new 49ers stadium? This could be the perfect fit for Wilder.
