A’s #1 In Power Rankings, Thanks To Jesse Chavez

Whether you’re a fan of the green and gold or not, you have to admit, they always find a way to win, and surprise fans. Let’s take a look at why they’re a team you shouldn’t sleep on.

According to CBS Sports’ Matt Snyder, Oakland takes the number one spot in his Power Rankings list. He says:

The A’s magic spreads seemingly to wherever they wish. Jesse Chavez entered the season as a 30-year-old with 189 career relief appearances and two starts. His ERA was 5.48. Through three starts this season, Chavez has a 1.35 ERA and 22 strikeouts against only two walks in 20 innings.

The 30 year old sneakily made his way to the A’s rotation after Jarrod Parker and A.J. Griffin suffered injuries, and has made himself well known. He could easily make his bed on the mound as a starter and nobody could argue about it.

He faces the Astros this weekend. Don’t expect anything less than amazement from the righty.
