DeSean Jackson Officially Released By The Philadelphia Eagles

It’s the day Jackson has been dreading and the day we knew was coming since Jackson and the Eagles have been unable to come to terms on his contract. With the Eagles making new deals with both wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper, it was only a matter of time before Jackson’s fate was sealed.

Whether Jackson’s release was for monetary reasons, or due to allegations that he is allegedly involved in gang activity remains to be determined. In a statement made by Jackson, he denies any ties with gangs or gang members.

Jackson, who had over 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2013, was drafted by the Eagles second round of the 2008 NFL draft and has proudly earned his way to three Pro Bowls. Will other teams pursue Jackson, is the question. The New York Jets have been making it pretty obvious their interest in Jackson, prior to his release by the Eagles.
